Overview

I first started as a standard Design Engineer working to create new products determined by market needs or feedback from the sales team. While in this role I was able to work on NNN NNN NNN that was released.

After N months working there I switched over from assisting with custom projects part time to being a full time member of the customs team. The role involved creating custom solutions which can involve coordinating and sourcing custom components, creating instructions for production to manufacture the custom product, creating technical documentation for the products, and occasionally assisting shipping with safely packaging the product. I found it very fun to get to dive into a product that would get used for one customer because it allowed for a much more focused product. These solutions were very project specific which meant I could focus on the customer specific problem without having to worry about possible general market customers.

Released Products

One of the first things I worked on at the company was this drop lens for the ALTA - after each product include picture or marketing material on the release

Non-product Projects

An important project that I worked on that wasn't product design was an Asana system for the custom's team to use. This new system helped with communicating between the sales team, design team, and scheduling. At the start of the project, a sales person can request approval for the project and submit details on the problem they are currently phasing. After approval we communicate through Asana to clarify and further details or updates on how development is going. When the product is finally sold (sometimes years later) we can easily pick the project back up and begin instructing production on how to make it.
